About the position
A construction company in Alberta is hiring experienced carpenters. You will build and install framing, formwork and wood finishing on residential or commercial sites. This is a full-time position on construction sites. You will work alongside other tradespeople, from drawings, from framing to finishing. Much of the year the work is outdoors; site safety is a priority.
What you would do
- Read drawings and take measurements
- Build framing, floors, walls and roofs
- Set up and strip formwork
- Install doors, windows, stairs and finishing
- Use power tools and follow site safety
Who we are looking for
- At least 3 years of framing or site carpentry experience
- Minimum education: some secondary school
- A diploma or certificate in carpentry, joinery or construction — strongly preferred
- Able to read drawings and work precisely
- Physically fit, comfortable working outdoors
- Some English is an asset
- Clean criminal record
- French: NCLC 5 or higher
